Who is Storyline Design?
Jeff Creswell
Jeff is an experienced classroom teacher and staff developer who has been
working with the Storyline method since it was first brought to the United States. He is
the author of Creating Worlds, Constructing Meaning: The Scottish Storyline Method,
published by Heinemann Books. He co-edits The Storyline Connection newsletter with Eileen.
Jeff has trained teachers throughout the northwest. He is also a member of the Golden
Circle. Jeff currently teaches sixth grade at Metropolitan Learning Center in Portland,
Oregon in addition to his work with Storyline Design.Eileen Vopelak
Eileen is an experienced teacher and staff developer who has worked with
the Scottish Storyline Method since it was first brought to the United States in 1990.
She is a member of the Golden Circle, an international group of Storyline leaders. She is
also co-editor of The Storyline Connection newsletter. Eileen has trained teachers
throughout southern California particularly in the Los Angeles area. She is currently a
student teaching supervisor for the University of California at Santa Barbara in addition
to work with Storyline Design.Helen Crandell
Helen has been using the Storyline method in her classroom for the past
ten years and has been a Storyline trainer for the past five years. She teaches fifth grade
at Laurelhurst Elementary School in Portland, Oregon.Roger Fisher
Roger has been an experienced Storyline teacher for the last ten years and
has been a Storyline trainer since 1995. He currently teaches sixth grade in the Evergreen
School district in Vancouver, Washington.Janet Kanongataa
Janet has been a Storyline trainer since 1995. She is an experienced
classroom teacher who has used the method in her classroom since 1992. She currently is a
principal in California.Elaine Smith
Elaine has been using the Storyline method for the last ten years and has
been a Storyline trainer for the last five of those years. She, along with her colleague,
Colleen Vallerga, have recently started a Storyline magnet school, Highlands Elementary,
in Bend, Oregon.Colleen Vallerga
Colleen has been working with the Storyline method in her classroom for
ten years and has been a trainer since 1994. She is the co-founder of Highlands School, a
Storyline magnet school in Bend, Oregon.Shelly Othus
Shelly is the office manager for Storyline Design. She works with teachers
and administrators to coordinate classes and registrations, and publishes our newsletter,
training and advertising materials.
